Coming soon will be the mammoth flood of releases that is Revenge of The Fallen, which get their (almost) global release date on May 30th with some places having midnight sales, others opening early on Saturday morning and yet more ignoring the release dates and already putting their stocks out on shelves. In a slightly uncustomary action, I decided to hunt down this new type of Transformer to see what they were like for myself. Having previously avoided the Star Wars Transformers line because they just looked crap, I thought I’d give these the benefit of the doubt and see if they had fared any better. The problem with the Star Wars Transformers was that whilst the vehicles looked quite good, the ‘robot’ modes looked terrible because they were supposed to be people and not robots. Hasbro have even gone so far as to say that the droids will not appear in the Star Wars Transformers line, no matter how sensible that thought seems to the rest of us.
The Summer 2008 Blockbuster Movie Season has begun and how! Iron Man takes the comic book hero, brings it a little up to date with a new set of war enemies based in Afghanistan as opposed to the original Vietnam War, adds a big dose of computer graphics courtesy of the folks behind Transformers wizardry – ILM, and throws a few Audis in to the mix due to licensing deals between Marvel and Audi.
